Custom Built Lightsabers
"Valiant" --Larbel Hilt Conversion
Build Log of converting a rare Larbel non-EL Obi Wan hilt to feature a Crystal Focus v6 and removable crystal chamber
In 1998, Larry Leung produced a limited series of sabers under the name "Larbel". They are very rare and highly prized for their quality and accuracy. This is the non-EL version, meaning it is near solid. I began the task of modifying this saber to house full electronics/LED/sound package and a Petit Crouton v2.0 soundboard. This saber is named "Valiant" in honor of the resiliency of its wielder in the films.
The crystal chamber layout is planned and milled over the course of a few hours.
Removing all the parts. Note the ONE PIECE aluminum shroud, which is the defining aspect of a Larbel non-EL ready saber. By simply unscrewing the covertech wheel, the rear grip section slides out rearwards (as shown in the previous picture). Removing the red and brass buttons allows the emitter section to slide forward. It is essentially a completely field strippable, displayable, yet still duelable saber built around one of the most rare sabers in our hobby. Stay tuned for more detailing...
