Custom Built Lightsabers
"Horus" -- Stargate inspired Saber
Fully scrach built, with MHS compatible emitter and hand scribed acid etched surface detail
"Horus" continues the design lineage of "Targa", my first saber which was scratch built entirely from aluminum tubing. "Horus", however, has an MHS compatible blade holder for modular design options. The objective of this saber project is to feature a full body etch with hand scribed details, and a slender saber with multi-layered, overlapping shrouds comprising the entire saber body. The general aesthetic references the original Stargate movie, and I try to break from conventional saber design.
A very rough sketch, indeed! This saber is designed from the start to be anything but a single boring metal tube. Three overlapping sections will give the saber dimension, and a crowned emitter and cat's eye pommel add to the variation of width along the saber's length. I like the Ahsoka-like outer shroud in the center, with its double S-curves.
